Initiated in 1997 and set within the misty hinterlands of Ubud, the Mason Elephant Park was created in response to the devastating situation in Sumatra where rampant deforestation and poaching has dwindled the native elephant population. This multi-award-winning park is Bali’s only dedicated elephant rescue facility and is home to Bali’s largest herd of critically endangered Sumatran elephants, 6 of which were born here. The park provides guests with the rare opportunity to interact and learn about these gentle giants while giving the healthy herd a comfortable and safe environment to call home. The park is set within 4 hectares and has been carefully landscaped to mimic the original habitat of the elephant’s native home in Sumatra. The location in central Bali was also chosen for its cooler climate and lush environment, which helps to keep the elephants cool and comfortable in this tranquil landscape. The Park does not use brutal or cruel training methods, as all training is by repetition, reward, and patience.

GENERAL ADMISSION

Get up close and personal with Bali’s largest herd of 31 Sumatran elephants at the island’s premiere interactive and intimate elephant experience set among lush botanical gardens and jungle. The resident giants can be seen immersing themselves in the park lake, in between riding, painting or other activities. Guests can observe, hand feed, touch, and take photos with the elephants, all the while learning more about them along the way.

BATHE & BREAKFAST

Bathe & Breakfast with Elephants – Reserve an exclusive opportunity to wash, bathe and ride bareback atop the elephants as they splash and play in their bathing lake, one of their favorite rituals of the day. Afterwards, sit back and enjoy a full buffet breakfast with a view in the Park Restaurant as the elephants soak up and dry off in the morning sun.

ELEPHANT SAFARI RIDE

Walk on the wild side with an informative and scenic stroll atop an elephant through the park and the cool Taro jungle. An experience that guests will never forget, interacting and exercising with the resident giants. Afterwards, enjoy lunch with a view of the elephant bathing lake in the Park Restaurant.

JUMBO WASH

Hose, wash, scrub, and caress the newfound friend, as experience a unique connection with one of the elephants in a spectacular tropical setting as get up close and personal. Afterwards, observe the elephant education show and enjoy a full buffet lunch with a view of the elephants in their bathing lake.

SAFARI UNDER THE STARS

In the still of the misty forest of Taro at nightfall, the elephants take guests on Bali’s only twilight elephant trek. Enjoy the Elephant Education Show at dusk before a night safari ride through the dimly lit forest followed by a gourmet set dinner or gourmet buffet dinner in the Palm Grove by the lake.
